A FREE READING FOR YOUR SCHOOL from "The Whimsical Sage" by Michael Sage.

Students say: "now I am starting to like to read", "...taught us learning can be fun", and "all those cool rhymes."

Engage students with INTERACTIVE STUDENT & TEACHER READ ALOUD featuring: homonyms, similes, puns, definitions, expressions and words within words.

THE WHIMSICAL SAGE readings are for grades 2 through 8 generally, but are appropriate for students of ANY ability and differently-abled. In addition to public, religious, private and charter schools, summer schools and Extended School Year, we have been to special schools like Bethanna and Overbrook School for the Blind. Children with Visual Impairments of the St. Lucy's Day School read aloud from the book in braille and large print. We have worked with Special Education and classes with autistic students. The definition of ADHD as Attention Dialed to a Higher Dimension indeed fits these specially gifted children we have had the privilege to work with.

There is NO LIMIT on the number of readings for your school. If your school does not already own a copy, The Whimsical Sage ReadAloud will donate a copy AFTER the reading. Readings are available on Tuesdays.

Our routine is for me, Joan Sage to begin with Mike’s Dippy Dos and Don’ts verses. I ask who wants to read and it always amazes me how eager children are to read aloud; then the teachers and librarians read some of the stories and then more students read. We have transparencies of most of the book so that all the students can see the pages while one of them reads. Many schools have overhead projectors but if they don't, I bring mine.

Usually it takes about 45 minutes and we do a whole school day of classes. Ideal class size is approximately 20 students. Experience has shown us that students have to be sitting in rows (and not at desks or library tables which are distractions. We are always ready to return the desks and tables to their original places at the end of the reading). Contact The Whimsical Sage ReadAloud to schedule your reading today.
